Wetherby Athletic entertained Oxenhope Recreation knowing that they had to win this game if they were to stand any chance of survival in this league.
The game was minutes old when Jack McGahan had the first shot, however his effort was straight at the keeper.
The games saw the return of some familiar faces as both Jon Maloney and Sam Moore made their return to The Ings.
Following a few early exchanges the game settled into a cat and mouse affair with both teams trying to spring a successful break.
Both goalkeepers were having to make saves, with Moore producing a great reaction save to deny the visitors from taking the lead.
Wetherby nearly took the lead on several occasions, but Oxenhope's stubborn resistance saw some great defending at crucial times!
In the closing stages of the first half, Wetherby were denied a penalty when Josh Wilson was fouled from behind.
The first goal arrived soon after the restart when Maloney rounded the keeper and scored, despite a blatant handball by the covering defender, which he received a yellow card for!
Wetherby soon threatened again and McGahan nearly doubled the lead from Maloney's free-kick!
Wilson's running was causing Oxenhope no end of problems and only a good save from the keeper prevented him from scoring!
Finally the second goal came when Maloney pounced the poke the ball home when the keeper failed to collect it.
