My name is Madeline Jamrok and I go to Kennedy High School. I am involved in many activities around my school and in my community. The activities include: dance team, student government, youth group and the school news magazine, Torch. After joining the news magazine my junior year, I knew it was an interest of mine to continue throughout my senior year. Not only did I enroll in the course to enrich my writing and serve as an editor but I also wanted to make new friendships. Some highlights of being in Torch have been the mini field trips we have ventured on, the many laughs I've shared with other students while on deadline and most importantly creating designs for the photo pages in the magazine.
Torch is a class I always look forward to and has been a great activity for me to be a part of at Kennedy. Being a member of the Torch staff is like being a superhero. As superheros have to save lives and always be on time to their mission, so do editors and writers in Torch while they approach deadlines and cover important news/culture/opinion stories. Superheros also are very skilled, just like writers and photographers in Torch. I also believe the Torch staff enjoys contributing to their school as much as superheros enjoy devoting their time to the community.
