COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Unlike most other guides that focus on a limited number of policy options, LocalHousingSolutions.org provides guidance on the full array of housing policy tools available to local government, including: planning, zoning, tax, permitting, city/county subsidy, and housing authority tools. Features and highlights include: Explainer videos for beginners; Guidance on local housing needs assessment; Multiple entry-points to content: Issue-specific; By policy objective; Policy library; Self-Assessment tool to curate site content for users.

LHS has cultivated an international audience with a wide reach — the site attracts over 2,000 unique visitors a month. We view this interest as strong evidence of the demand among local governments, citizens, and stakeholders for guidance and technical assistance in developing local housing strategies that can help relieve pressure on prices and rents.
