HUNT OF THE MONTH at Pendleton Public Library

We are partnering with the Pendleton Public Library in the PELC Hunt of the Month. Be on the lookout for PELC classroom animals out and about in the library! Each month a paper version of a classroom animal or two will be hidden in the Pendleton Public Library. Students are encouraged to visit the library with their parents and find the animals. Once they find the animal they write it on their monthly Reading Log and have a librarian sign their log also. This is a fun way to explore our town’s library and see all they have to offer.

NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH

We were so honored to travel to Nixyaawii Community School to see the drummers and dancers from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, as they shared their culture and talents with us. We also got to watch as a few of our PELC students danced. What a very special event to celebrate Native American Month. In addition, some of our Native American students were recognized with awards at the PSD School Board meeting on Monday, November 18th. They received awards for academic excellence, leadership, school involvement, hard work, kindness and being a good friend. We were so proud of our PELC students and all the others!

FALL FAMILY FUN NIGHT and BASKET RAFFLE

We had a wonderful Fall Family Fun Night, including a great basket raffle. Each classroom had a themed basket with donations from students and families. It was a fabulous evening with many family activities. Profits totaled more than $2500! We truly appreciate the support and efforts of our PELC Parent Club.

FALL FUN, FRIENDS and FESTIVITIES

FRIENDSGIVING FEAST

We had a wonderful Friendsgiving Feast with approximately 250 kindergarteners all seated together. They made applesauce, pumpkin pudding and enjoyed blueberry muffins. A big thanks to 32 Sunridge Middle School Students. They not only set up, but took down all our tables and chairs and served our students. We truly appreciate the PELC Parent Club for the purchase of water bottles, plates, cups, napkins and spoons for our feast.
