THON For the kids, for the cure

What is THON??

Throw your diamonds up!

THON is a student- run philanthropy started by Penn State students. THON raises money to donate to the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Medical Center to help children with pediatric cancer. The money goes to providing emotional and financial support, spreading awareness, and funding research to one day find a cure.

During THON weekend in February, families affected by cancer have a fun weekend, celebrate their children, and "forget" temporarily about the struggles with cancer.

Why do people stand for 46 HOURS??

People who attend THON weekend stand for 46 hours to represent the struggle, pain, and tiredness that people with cancer go through EVERYDAY. But, it's not all hard work and pain. There are so many fun things to do that weekend like.....

  • Pep rally
  • Fashion show
  • Live music
  • Line dance
  • Family hour
Millions of dollars for the kids, for the cure

How can we help??

We can help by encouraging the dancers as well as the kids. We can send encouraging letters so the dancers can read when they are getting tired. We can send supportive cards to the kids as well as stickers, tattoos, coloring books, and other fun things!

One day we'll celebrate. Until then, fight on State!
