Humble ISD GT Referral Assessment Window

The Humble Gifted and Talented referral window is now open! Students may be referred for GT testing by parent(s), peers, teacher(s), other professional personnel, and/or themselves. Starting this year, there will be an online district testing portal. This portal will only be open during the assessment window(s) and will include parental permission to test, evaluate, and receive gifted program services. Parents of students who have been referred by teachers or other staff will be contacted to complete the online referral form. No student may be denied access to the Humble ISD Gifted and Talented Program on the basis of race, creed, or handicapping conditions. Referrals should be completed in the online portal on the Advanced Academics website. The portal will be available and open during the referral window (Grades 1-12: August 26 - September 27; Kindergarten: August 26 - December 20). You may access the District Referral Portal by clicking this link: Online Referral Form

News from PTO

Thank you so much to all families who supported PTO's first fundraiser at Culver's last week. Thanks to you we were able to raise approximately $700 for Timbers!

The PTO is excited to announce that we will be using Membership Toolkit for our Directory, Online Sales, Volunteer Sign Ups and Communications starting with the 2019-2020 school year. We invite you to visit the Timbers PTO Membership Toolkit to see everything our PTO has to offer this year. Once you create a Membership Toolkit Account, you will have access to upcoming calendar events, be able to make purchases, sign up to volunteer and much, much more!

News from 5th Grade

In fifth grade we are working on place value, adding and subtracting decimals, properties of matter, character traits, plot analysis, and map skills. We have hit the ground running, and we are looking forward to what lies ahead this school year! Thank you to all parents who have helped with purchasing supplies and getting our students started on the right foot!

Big Kahuna Fundraiser Coming Soon!

Our Fall Fundraiser kicks off September 27th. Enjoy free shipping to your home for online orders (with the exception of frozen products). More info is coming soon!

Celebrating our Staff

Does your child love being a Timbers Timberwolf? Is it because of a certain teacher or staff member? Well, I want to know about it! Please click here to tell me about the person who makes Timbers the best school for your student!

Car Riders

Grades K-2 and their older siblings are back car riders. Grades 3-5 students without younger siblings are front car riders.

Lunch Visitors

Parents may begin eating lunch with your student this week! Please check in at the front office to receive your visitors pass and then wait at the guest table for your student to arrive. Please note that while outside food may be brought for your child, it cannot be shared with others.

Attendance Reminders

When your child(ren) are absent from school, you must call the absence hotline at (281)641-2019 for each day absent, and send a note to school the day they return. If the school does not receive a phone call or note from a guardian, the absence is considered unexcused.

Beginning of Year Assessments

All students in grades K- 5th will participate in beginning-of-year testing between August 26th and September 20th.

School Spirit!

Have you purchased your 2019-2020 school spirit shirt yet? School spirit shirts are worn on Friday and can be purchased from the front office for $10. Spirit shirts from 2017-2018 or before can be purchased for $5.

Student Birthdays

Parents may purchase a frozen birthday treat for their child’s class during their lunch time. Frozen treats may be purchased from the cafeteria for 75 cents each to be distributed after the children finish their lunch. Please notify the cafeteria at (281) 641-2008 one week prior to the event in order to have enough treats on hand for all interested. If parents wish to bring cupcakes to school, they may do so. However, please ensure that the treats are store bought as well as notify the teacher two days in advance so that the teacher has ample time to contact the parents of those with allergies arranging for an alternate treat. Parents may drop off the treats at the front office so that birthdays may be celebrated the final 20 minutes of the school day. As a reminder of district policy, students are not permitted to pass out party invitations at school.
