We Are Back Team
A huge thanks to everyone in the Chapel Downs Community for your amazing support during lock down. We certainly understand it's been a challenging time and we can't wait to come together as one huge bubble of support next week.
We are really excited to be reopening school from next Monday 18th May. We look forward to welcoming your child/ren back to school.
We will be following all the Ministry of Education Alert Level 2 guidelines to keep your children as safe as we possibly can. We have a safety plan and there are some important things that you need to know before your child/ren arrives on Monday. These guidelines require your continued support as well.
Our school will be open from 8.55am on Monday 18 May for all students. Our school day finishes at 3pm.
Under Alert Level 2, we advise any students and staff to stay at home if they are sick.
Physical distancing is a good precaution to prevent the spread of disease. We do however know it is challenging in schools, so good hygiene practices and regular cleaning are even more important. This includes coughing into their elbows, handwashing and drying and regular cleaning of commonly touched surfaces.
- If your child is unwell they must stay home
- Our school is open for all students from Monday 18 May
- Parents/Caregivers can drop children at school from 8.30am
- We ask that only staff and students are to enter the classrooms
- Your child will need to bring a drink bottle of water and food for morning tea and lunch
After School Care will resume under Level 2 from Monday. This is open only to the children who are currently registered in the After School care Programme.
There will not be any whole school assemblies. All students and staff will follow safe distancing guidelines. Under Alert Level 2 this is maintaining a physical distance so that they are not breathing on or touching each other. We will be giving the classrooms and toilets a thorough clean each day.
For more information about the public health measures at Alert Level 2, you can visit the covid19 website: https://covid19.govt.nz If you have any questions or have a child who might be vulnerable to serious illness and would like to discuss a plan for them, please contact me through the school office 09 274 8002.
We are really looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday.
