The Spatial Experience
Entering the theatre came as a surprise to me. As many times as I have walked through the Reitz I never realized that there was a Theatre within it. The theatre was very comfortable and spacious considering I didn't previously know that it existed. My seat was towards the front left and there was no one sitting in front of me. Throughout the play it felt like I was a part of the performance. Experiencing the play was different than watching a movie in the fact that I was witnessing the action first hand.
The Social Experience
I went to see the play with one of my friends. It was nice to have a friend there because after the play we were able to reflect on our experience. It was good to experience the play with someone that I could talk to about it because it is a reminder that other people had a similar experience that I did; that enhanced our friendship.
The Cultural and Intellectual Experience
The play caused me to reflect on issues in today's society. It opened thought on how people are still being oppressed even in our own society. A lot of times people will choose not to voice their opinions because of certain social stigmas, but this play highlights that any person can stand up for what they believe in.
The Emotional Experience
By observing other people being blatantly oppressed and dishonored, it allows the audience to reflect on themselves and think about how they mistreat others. It allows us an opportunity to be nicer, more outgoing citizens.
