Artist show 2: Pablo Picasso By: grant korfhage

Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso was born on October 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain , and died on April 8, 1973 in Mougins, France

Pablo Picasso was married to Jacqueline Roque and Olga khokhlova

Pablo Picasso learned art from his father who was an art teacher

Picasso first word was pencil

When he was 15 he created a well known painting

His long name comes from a list of saints and relatives

"Art is a lie that makes us realize truth"

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life"

He was a co founder of cubism

Cubism is using simple geometric shapes and not using actual curves and features

Guernica 11′ 6″ x 25′ 6″

This is my favorite painting of his because it doesn't really make since, but he uses a lot of cubism and abstract details. Located in Reina Sofia, Madrid

In this piece I don't have much to emphasize except for the abstract use of shapes in this piece. I can never understand art, but I'm pretty sure this is very Bold as some people say. They keep the color down to black and white, but the lines and forms are very abstract texture is used well but the best is space and value, because they used almost no negative space and the value was very good.

I think he was trying to say 2 things. One that art is pain, and two that he is showing struggles of human life

This painting gives me a feeling of sadness, but at the same time confusion.

My favorite part is that I can understand some parts of the painting, like when they are all leaning to the side I feel like that could be fear or ambition
