Tornado Men's Tennis 2020 season preview

The King University men's tennis team finished fifth in the Conference Carolinas standings and the Tornado look to improve on that finish this year. Three new players join a talented returning core as interim head coach Terry Caldwell looks to lead the Tornado back to the Conference Carolinas Tournament.

2019 season highlights

  • Posted a record of 10-9, going 5-4 in Conference Carolinas play

  • 8-4 in singles play last season
  • Individual champion at the Bluefield College Invitational

JORGE ROJAS

Jr. | 5- | Guayaquil, Guayas

  • Won seven singles matches
  • Runner-up at the Bluefield College Invitational
  • Posted six wins in doubles play

SEBASTIAN LIEFLAENDER

Jr. | 6-1 | Wegberg, Germany

  • Went 10-8 in doubles play, including 6-3 in Conference Carolinas play
  • Won three singles matches

Head Coach

Terry Caldwell

Caldwell served as the interim head coach during the spring of 2018 and has a plethora of experience coach tennis and golf for 27 years at Virginia High School. He coached tennis for 16 years and spent one years as the head swimming coach at Milligan College.
