Driver Of The Month - Mark Balmer

Congratulations to Mark Balmer - Clio 182 Driver, for winning driver of the month! Mark has had a consistent few month with victories at Rockingham, Pembrey and now Cadwell. At Cadwell the conditions were challenging, with the rain coming down from the off. The qualifying session saw the first challenge as it was red flagged early on due to a cow getting rather close to the circuit! Mark qualified in 2nd behind Andrew Tibbs by just 0.06sec.. In the first race Mark got ahead of Tibbs and withstood race long pressure in treacherous conditions to hold on for a well deserved victory. In the 2nd race in slightly drier conditions Mark led from the off with a commanding lead he looked set for another victory. However a stranded car at Barn led to a red flag. Upon the restart Patrick Fletcher made the better start and moved into first. Mark still finished 2nd just 0.19secs behind. It was a good solid points hall for Mark. Well done Mark! The Clio races next up at Donington at the beginning of September.

Special Mention:

This month a special mention must go to Sam McKee and Adam Mealand. They race in Sams BMW E36 which has done 189,000 miles! They race in the mini endurance 45 minute roadsports race. They achieved a fantastic podium position which in their words felt like 'a victory' Its an excellent achievement with it being Adams first podium as well, they qualified a superb 9th overall. Whats even more amazing is Sam drives the car to and from the meetings as well! Just proves motorsport doesn't have to be expensive.
