Welcome to the first ever Gen-I newsletter. We are delighted to have you join us! This newsletter will serve as a place for all of the MSPI Gen-I grantees to learn about the great work happening across Indian country. Here we'll also learn about some lessons learned, tips, tricks, and resources available to help us:
- Implement evidenced-based and practice-based approaches to build resiliency, promote positive development, and increase self-sufficiency behaviors among native youth;
- Promote family engagement;
- Increase access to prevention activities for youth to prevent methamphetamine use and other substance use disorders that contribute to suicidal behaviors, in culturally appropriate ways; and
- Hire additional behavioral health staff (i.e., licensed behavioral health providers and paraprofessionals, including but not limited to peer specialists, mental health technicians, and community health aides) specializing in child, adolescent, and family services who will be responsible for implementing project activities that address all of the required objectives listed
Quick guide to the gen-i digest
This is the placeholder we'll explain the structure of the digest. Some ideas is to have a section dedicated to the four objectives areas under PA 4. Another section to highlight a project. Another to highlight a resource section. Tools, tips, and additional opportunities to further the work. This can also include significant deadlines related to the overall projects, reminders on who to submit things to.
