Shakespeare's Life David Zografos Period 4

This is a bust of Shakespeare's father.

"About 1551 John Shakespeare left Snitterfield, which was his birthplace , to seek a career in the neighboring borough of Stratford-on-Avon."( Lee 35). His father went here for a job as a trader. John had a decent job, at least to raise a family. "In April 1552 he was living there in Henley Street, a thoroughfare leading to the market town of Henley-in-Arden, and he is first mentioned in the borough records as paying in that month a fine of twelve-pence for having a dirt-heap in front of his house."(Lee 37). John lived in Henley street and was fined for having a pile of dirt in front of his house. He had many funny stories and lived closed to civilization. "In 1556, he was sufficiently established locally to be trusted by the Stratford Council for the shared position as an official taster of bread and ale."(Lee 37) His dad was a taster of bread and ale. Mr. Shakespeare worked many different and weird jobs.

These are two sisters, just like Shakespeare had two daughters and raised them with a wife.

Shakespeare had two daughters, "... in 1582 he got with child a women named Anne or Agnes Hathaway, eight years older than himself."(Masefield 15). Shakespeare didn't mind family and had enough money to support them, "William and Anne's first child, Susanna Shakespeare (later Hall) (1583–1649), was baptized on May 26, 1583, six months after her parents' marriage."(World Book). Shakespeare had two children that were daughters and twins. Shakespeare's children show that he was Christian and cared for children.

Shakespeare was once a child, as young as this one.

Shakespeare was originally name was Gulielmus when he was first born, "The name Gulielmus filius Johannes Shakespere is recorded in the baptismal records in the parish register of Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, on April 26, 1564."(Gaines). There are many unknown facts about Shakespeare, such as his full name and his home town, "Shakespeare, William (1564-1616), was an English playwright, poet, and actor." (Gaines). He was a playwright, poet, and actor. Shakespeare was very good at many things and the things that he did. William was the first son of his family, but the third child, "We know that he was the first son and third child of John Shakespeare, ..."(Wikipedia). Shakespeare grew up with two siblings and lived with a decently sized family.

Shakespeare made many plays and worked with many important people in the Globe Theater

Macbeth is a very well known play that is Shakespeare wrote in the Globe Theater, "Macbeth is a five-act tragedy by the English dramatist William Shakespeare. It was probably written in 1606 and first performed at the Globe Theatre, London, in the same year, possibly in front of King James I. The text was not published until 1623. Some critics have suggested that parts of the play are by another English dramatist, Thomas Middleton (1570?-1627)."(World Book). Macbeth is a decently short play that has been performed in front of royalty. Shakespeare worked with many important people, "Within a few years Shakespeare was among the players in the Lord Chamberlain’s company."(Masefield 23). Shakespeare was so good he got to work for and with better people.
