Special Election May 2

CCS Replacement Referendum voting takes place May 2.

A Special Election will take place Tuesday, May 2 for a resolution to replace the Carmel Clay Schools' current referendum which is scheduled to expire at the end of the year. The current referendum is an OPERATING referendum, which means it funds people and programs. It generates roughly $14.5 million annually. Without it, the school district will be forced to cut at least 260 jobs as well as academic programs not required for graduation and some extracurricular activities.

CLAY MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

Parents of Incoming Clay Middle School Students

We would love to have you join us in the media center as volunteers!

We will have 10-12 openings next year due to “graduations” and we will need your help! Volunteers serve on a bi weekly rotation but we also have a sub list that you can join. Volunteer duties are numerous; a few examples include student book check in/check out, book covering, media center displays and projects and shelving books. A background check through Carmel Clay School is required of all volunteers. If you are interested in joining our media center team please contact Marcia Ruderman at claymediavolunteer@gmail.com.

The Clay PTO is now looking for parents to join the team for next year!

Attention 5th Grade Runners

The Clay Cross Country team is looking for runners of all skill levels for the 2017 season. If you are interested in joining the team, please email Coach Carter at jcarter2@ccs.k12.in.us

There will be summer runs starting on Monday, June 19 - Wednesday, July 26. All summer runs are from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet other runners, meet the coaches, and begin getting in shape for the upcoming season.

  • All Monday runs will take place at River Road Park (126th and River Road).
  • All Wednesday runs will take place at Northview Church (meet by the palm trees).
  • The first official practice will be on Monday, August 7 at 6:30pm at the Clay track.
  • The cross country team practices every day from 3:30 – 5:00 and there are 10 meets throughout the season.

Interested in playing tennis this summer?

Mr. Sturgis (6th Grade Science Teacher and Head Tennis Coach at Clay) will be hosting the 4th annual Clay Middle School Tennis camp at the Clay tennis courts. This camp is for any players interested in learning more about the game of tennis. Never played before? No worries! The camp is geared towards various levels of players, ages 5-14, from beginners to intermediate level and beyond.

The dates of the camp are Tuesday, June 13-June 16, AND Monday, June 19-June 22.
