800 Pound Gorilla Records believes that most companies in the recorded audio business are operating on an outdated notion of what a label needs to do to provide the best results in a constantly-changing 21st century marketplace. We use a sophisticated digital marketing strategy in conjunction with traditional PR, radio, distribution, and other tools for a comprehensive, effective launch. The following is how we make the campaign work.
We focus on four areas to ensure a solid album launch and longevity in the marketplace.
First, we identify who the current fan base is through digital tracking. Then we extrapolate on key data points from your core audience to identify "high probability" listeners of your album. We then divide all these people into groups and build out how we will expose each one of them to your album.
We then distribute your album to more than 100 digital retail partners in the US and 250 outside the US in over 170 countries. We also feature global account management for the largest retailers like Amazon, Apple, Deezer, Google, Spotify and YouTube.
Next we start building out the advertising to make sure the message is correct for each platform and group. What works on Facebook, doesn't work on Instagram. That "one line bit" may work for Twitter, but what's the plan for YouTube? Then it's all about getting that message in front of the groups we identified earlier with precision and frequency. To get your record heard, we use highly targeted paid advertising, we work you into playlists on platforms like Spotify and we cover the blogosphere through publicity. In addition, we will utilize our strong relationships with companies like SiriusXM and Apple to push for spins and proper visibility on iTunes.
We make sure that whatever you release is protected so that no one rips it off and starts profiting from it. We will work with your team to perform "health checks" to your YouTube channel making sure it is optimized for best possible ad opportunities while taking down infringing content and chasing user generated content.
