The last day of term has come. We have had a very busy one. Last Saturday we finally got the electricity turned on which gave us the go ahead to move our students into our new building on Wednesday. All the students were very excited and are loving their new space. Stage One of the school’s Capital Work’s project presents us with a new Administration (that will be open day one of term 2) a staff room, a new Library and technician office (library will be occupied by OSHC until Stage Two is complete, our library will be launched in Term 1, 2020), and 6 new flexible learning spaces. We are all very excited about our new building. We are currently waiting to hear back from our Wurundjeri Elder to confirm a name for our building as well as a time for us to welcome it officially with a smoking and welcome ceremony. We will advise everyone of this date, once it is confirmed.
I’ve been told that the demolition of the amphitheater, music and art room will occur this Tuesday. I’m sure it will be a spectacular site (and a noisy one). I will be in the area to see it happen and to say goodbye to the building.
This week the Foundation students had an Easter Hat parade. All students were invited to make a creative hat for the parade. It was lovely to see so many wonderful creations and great to see many parents to come and watch their children strut their stuff!
