The main function of a computer monitor is to display video and graphical information generated by the computers graphics card, this can be transmitted through different connectors such as VGA or HDMI cables.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF AN OLED MONITOR?
The purpose OLED monitor is to display video form a computer through HDMI or VGA, however it does not act as a normal LCD LED monitor. The OLED monitor significantly enhances the next generation of vision equipped with a state of the art unique pixel system. The OLED monitor is used for a vast variety of things such as streaming videos, movies and T.V shows in up to 4K resolution. It is also able to be used for gaming in up to 4K resolution.
HOW DOES THE OLED MONITOR WORK?
The OLED monitor is not the traditional LED LCD screen. The term OLED represents the next generation of monitors. OLED monitors work similarly to conventional LEDs. OLED (organic light-emitting diode) is made up of six different layers. On the top and bottom there are layers of protective glass or plastic. The top layer is called the seal and the bottom layer the substrate. In between those layers, there's a negative terminal (sometimes called the cathode) and a positive terminal (called the anode). Finally, in between the anode and cathode are two layers made from organic molecules called the emissive layer (where the light is produced, which is next to the cathode) and the conductive layer (next to the anode).
An OLED display works without LED backlight, meaning it can display deep black levels which are thinner and lighter than a liquid crystal display (LCD). In low ambient light conditions, an OLED display can achieve a higher contrast ratio than an LCD.
