Pikes Peak | CO

America’s Mountain is a beloved landmark and tourist destination for people locally and from around the world. The harsh and high altitude conditions at the Peak have resulted in a deteriorated summit complex. To re-envision the site, the design team for the new Pikes Peak Summit Complex is intentionally creating a purposeful journey for the visitor, from the first moments of arrival to the pinnacle overlooks, which capture views that inspired the anthem "America the Beautiful" by Katharine Lee Bates.

“The goal,” said Eileen, “is to enhance the visitor experience by accommodating moments of reflection and interpretation, dispersing the pulse of visitors and optimizing the 360 degree views.”
