Coaches' Corner
"My greatest joy in golf is seeing a child smile while they are at the facility. Helping our youth develop athletically, intellectually, socially and personally is something that I look forward to everyday. It is a true honor and privilege to serve in the role I am, and I am incredibly proud to be #USKidsGolf."

Learning The Game — bunkers
When hitting a greenside bunker shot there a few things in the set up that we should do different than a pitch shot:
- Open your stance. This means the toe line will aim left of the target (opposite for lefties)
- Open your club face. This means the face will aim right of the target (opposite for lefties)
- Put the ball forward in your stance, just inside the left heel (opposite for lefties)
- Don’t ground the club in the sand, but instead, hover your club above the sand behind the ball.
Swing along the line of your stance and splash the sand about 2—3 inches before the ball
Erase the Line Drill
Draw a straight line in the sand using the sole of your club, perpendicular to your target line. Starting on the end of the line closest to you, imagine that the line represents your golf ball sitting in the bunker. Set up to the line as you would a golf ball. Make a realistic swing impacting the sand 2 to 3 inches behind the line, splashing the sand.
The divot that you have made in the sand should have erased the portion of the line where your imaginary ball was. Shuffle your stance a few inches forward and do the exact same thing with the next segment of the line.
