Population of China By Elisa ferravante

CHINA

I chose to talk about the Population of China because it contains big numbers which I find are more interesting to calculate. China has the biggest population in the world!

These are my data points starting from the year 1820-2010. As it can be seen, there has been an immense increase between the years 1950-2010. (green to black line). This was do to woman abuse and raping during thous years. After some time, having babies was a normal thing which meant that not having them, would result weird. Now, the majority of Chinese women have 1.7 children. This gives a stable range of children which helps the population to grow.
These are my data points with each of their lines. The purple line is my over all line of best fit.
These are my calculations for my blue line
These are my calculations for my green line
These are my calculations for the black line
These are my calculations for the line of best fit (purple line)
These are my calculations for each line. The blue one, the green and black. The year 190=2010 and 0=1820
These are my y-intercepts and slopes to build the 4 different lines.
According to my graph, in 50 years the population of China will decrease of 452.000 people. This is what my data suggest but I believe that it will increase. If it was to decrease, it would be caused by Chinese laws. Chinese laws say that every couple should have a maximum of 2 children . There is also the fact that a lot of people don't want to deal with kids so they simply don't make any. In 95 years the population of China will decrease of 367.00 people from now. Again, this is what my data suggests which is not something I believe will happen. FUN FACT: China contains 20% of the worlds population!

Thank you very much!! I hope you've learned something new!!!!! By Elisa Ferravante
