PLAINFIELD— Meet Tammy Ray, owner of City Ranch and manager of Black Water Riding Stables. Tammy has loved horses all her life and owned her first horse at the age of 13. She started City Ranch in Indianapolis in an urban setting bordered by residential housing. Two years ago, Tammy expanded her operation to a large equine facility in Plainfield Indiana named Black Water Riding Stables. This new location provided City Ranch with many woodland trails, acres of farm pastures for grazing, indoor and outdoor arenas, boarding facilities and a beautiful clubhouse for events.

Boarding stalls come individual grain and water feeders

"Bridle Your freedom and grab the reins," said Tammy, "we are open for new boarders and business!" City Ranch supports all riding disciplines and offers private and group lessons. The new location's amenities are truly a blessing for all equine enthusiasts. There is a sense of exuberance and freedom when you ride and experienced riders have access to many trails. Beginners can feel safe riding the gentle trail horses lead by City Ranch's experienced staff.

City Ranch has added a petting zoo with goats, ducks, peacocks and farm animals, carriages drawn by ponies to delight the children. You can call Tammy and schedule private riding parties, weddings or fundraisers.

City Ranch has an excellent volunteer program. Riding, grooming and mucking is good exercise and builds character. The horses and petting zoo animals need to be feed and taken care of. As they groom, clean stables, carry saddles, equipment or bales of hay the young volunteers are learning to be responsible while building integrity and strong work ethic.

In the future, Tammy would like to host a kids camp and welcome the boys and girls scouts and also wants to get involved in hippotheraphy helping children in occupational theraphy with horses.
