COVID-19

Firstly we would like to thank all the parents/carers for maintaining social distancing when queueing or coming on to School site. However, unfortunately positive cases in the Barnsley areas have risen significantly over the past couple of weeks from 50/100,000 up to 326/100,000. Therefore please can we remind you of what you need to do if your child has been told to self isolate by school by the information shown below:

Thank you to all who donated to the two fundraising events in May and June.

For the 'Marching on Cancer together campaign' as we raised £300 and for the 'Cystic Fibrosis Trust' Wear Yellow Day we raised £308. Your generosity is amazing!

Sports Day

Please note that we still have the following Sports Days in July shown below - unfortunately this will be for children only due to the COVID restrictions that are currently in place.

• FS2 - Tuesday 6th July (practice only due to adverse weather conditions) & Sports Day is now scheduled for w/c 12/07/21
• Y1, Y2, Y3 - Wednesday 7th July

September 2021 Classes, Transition Day

The Year 6 children who are going to Horizon College in September 2021 were invited to their Transition Day on Friday 2nd July. We hope the children enjoyed this experience at Horizon College and that they are looking forward to starting at their new School in September as Year 7's.

Wednesday 14th July 2021 is Transition Day. Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases we have had to change the transition arrangements - for full details please refer to the letter dated 6th July 2021 sent to you via email. Children will be told who their new teacher is on the week beginning 5th July along with which classroom they will be in. Please see below the September 2021 teachers and classroom details:

End of Year School Reports

Teachers have been busy writing the End of Year School Reports for pupils. Children will receive their reports on FRIDAY 9TH JULY. Any child that is not in school will have their report posted out to them.

Dinner Menu Changes

Please note that there are two changes to the Dinner Options on:

• Wednesday 14th July - Hot Dinner is Cheese and Ham Pizza and Vegetarian Pizza
• Thursday 15th July - Hot Dinner is Italian Meatball Sub-roll and Vegetarian Dinner is Indian Spiced Vegan Balls.

New School Dinner Menu from September 2021

Please see below the new September 2021 School Dinner Menu for choices of meals. From September 2021 the School Dinner Menu will be a 4 weekly cycle menu.

Year 6 End of Year Performance

'I'm a Year 6 Get Me Out Of Here' - The Year 6 End of Year Performance will be available for parent's to see on 'Seesaw' during the week commencing Monday 12th July. We would have loved to invite parents into school to watch it but the current increase in COVID positive cases has meant we are unable to facilitate this event - your children are amazing, we are very proud of them all! I'm sure the secondary school will be very impressed with them.

Concerns with your child's hearing

If you have any concerns with your child's hearing please telephone the NHS Paediatric Audiology Department at the New Street Health Clinic on telephone 01226 644803 and make an appointment.

Parking & Walking to school

Polite Reminder to parents with regards to pick up and drop off. Please could we politely remind parents to be mindful and courteous when parking near the school. Please do not double park, or park across driveways/paths or cause any obstruction to pedestrians. Please also be considerate and keep to walking on public footpaths and not on any private walkways/carparks. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Summer Reading Challenge 2021

Summer Holiday Club

Primary Sports Coaching will be running the Summer Holiday Club sessions at school for children this summer holiday at £12 per session on the following dates/times:

Wednesday 21st July, Thursday 22nd July & Thursday 23rd July - 10am - 3pm and Monday 23rd Aug, Tuesday 24th Aug, Wednesday 25th Aug & Thursday 26th Aug - 10am - 3pm
