Math Assessments are due Friday, February 3.

Math assessments are 5 minute tests. Test your 3rd through 5th grade students on addition and subtraction only and then upload the scores to the Master Log. Please note that 1st and 2nd graders have a new assessment with enlarged numbers and only addition problems, as suggested by our site directors.

Our volunteers are the best!

Our next parent workshop is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Shallowford. The subject is Financial Services/Taxes.

We believe that every topic covered in the Energy Bus for Kids can truly help our students to overcome challenges whenever they apply what they've learned to their lives. Make sure that your students understand how each "Rule" in the Energy Bus for Kids can help them.

Read pages 29-33 in The energy Bus and discuss Rule #3 with students. Ask questions: 1. How they would respond if they see their classmate being bullied? 2. How can you help stop bullying in your school?

  • Study Skill: Process of Elimination

How to incorporate the study skill: Cross off answers that they know are not correct. You should physically cross them out if at all possible to help them better visualize the rest of the choices. Then make an educated guess if you still do not know the answer after eliminating choices.
