Brooke A Letter to My 15-year-old Self

Dear 15 Year Old Brooke,

You are a beautiful person who loves people. You dance because you love it and you work so hard! You are only 15 and work harder than almost any 15 years old.

If I could tell you one thing it would be this: Please do not compare yourself to those around you! When you get older, people will only care how unique and bold you are, not how high you can lift your leg or the scholarship you won in Highschool. Those feelings are fleeting.

You have so much training and Artistic Fusion has given you so much. You are way ahead of MANY people your age. You are creative, dedicated, and continuously working to be better. That is what will make you successful. Nobody will remember what you accomplish now but they will see how dedicated and true you are to yourself. It will be really hard at times but if you give up you will never know how far you could have gone.

After college, you will have best friends who book Broadway shows and do unimaginable things. However, NONE of them were favored through Highschool or even in college. They worked SO hard and never gave up. They were the people who loved those around them and had a positive attitude through every circumstance. You will perform in one of the nicest theaters in NYC a year after you graduate. This may seem impossible but it is REALITY.

Love, Brooke
