...all the families shall be blessed... Genises 12:1-3

Working Together as the Body of Christ

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Isaiah 52:7

Paul elaborates in Romans

"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom the have not heard? And how shall the hear without a preacher? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

"how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things! 10:14-15"

Who Are We?

Just Your Average Family

We wish we could fill this page with photos of our sweet children and give you all of our names and smiley faces, but we can't. We're a family seeking to serve the Lord in such a way that may place us in 'less than friendly to the gospel message' environments.

But even if we can't put the cute, smiling faces of our kids on the web, we can still introduce ourselves with anticipation of meeting you in the very near future!

We're a family that is currently numbered at five with three children ages three, two, and 9 months. We didn't start out this way....

Fun fact- our kids love to talk about animals! But they don't like to touch them...or generally be very close to them...yet ;)

In the Beginning...

We actually started out as two youngsters who met at a youth retreat and began dating through a very odd and story worthy (though at another time, perhaps) series of events. Eventually, after much prayer, we got married at the ages of 20 and 21 with the intent of attending New Tribes Missions training program (now known as Ethnos 360) to become tribal missionaries.

It was in this context that God showed us his will, his provision, and his timing. In spite of many "setbacks," He completely opened the door for us to attend the Bible Institute in Michigan. It was probably one of the best decisions we made on the path to doing full time missionary work. Two years together studying the Word of God was incredibly transformative in our lives as individuals, as a couple, and as members of the body of the Christ. We were sad to leave, but also excited to continue learning and acquiring skills that would equip us to understand the roots of culture and language in other cultures, to do basic medical/first aid and live with a team in a tribal context, and teach the Word of God in a way that would be understandable to the people we were trying to reach.

But God had a different plan.

Fun Fact: This husband and wife duo have different tastes. One really, really likes coffee and the culture that of sharing and togetherness that has come along with it, and the other is good with a cup of tea here and there. Can you guess which is which?

Three Years = Three Babies. Now That's a Deal!

Instead of allowing us to go straight to the missionary training center after the Bible Institute, God sent us home to get to know our church family and mature as a couple and in Him. We figure he also wanted us to grow as a family, because he blessed us with a little girl, followed by a little boy, followed by a littler boy! And we would never have it another way! Praise God for his timing.

But we are definitely ready to move forward in this process. While we've been home for these past 3 years, we've had the opportunity to grow in certain skills that may have been left behind had we continued straight through the missionary training program with Ethnos 360. So now we're excited to share these skills with you and, the Lord willing, finish our training and start toward "the field".

The Goal

(Fun Fact: We just took a cross country trip in our little toaster car with all three of our kids. If this had been the only memory we had, it would have been well worth it! What a Creator we serve!)

This is Where God is Directing Us

Ethnos 360 is a missionary organization that specializes in reaching people groups that have never heard the gospel. They usually (though are not limited to) consist of people with unwritten languages who still function in a tribal setting. This particular organization sees the beauty in the diversity of culture and language the Lord has made. It's important to them (and to us) that bringing the gospel to these people does not mean bringing western culture to them as well. They believe the gospel to be the truth of God that transcends culture and language and therefore thrives in the midst of any culture to which it is introduced.

The training we would receive from them would be invaluable. We would learn how to listen to, observe, and understand different cultures and languages, looking for redemptive stories that would point them to Christ. We would learn how to teach the message to them in their heart language. And we would learn basic "survival" skills necessary in a place where there is not immediate access to Walmart, a doctor, or Amazon Prime. They don't teach languages, they teach the how in cross cultural missions.

If We May Be So Transparent...

Where We Stand

We are so excited to be starting off from a grand total of $0.00!

We have been so blessed to have been able to pay off all of our hospital debts and to have been gifted by the Seattle Children's hospital by complete coverage for our son's stay. We are incredibly grateful for God's provision!

The Cost of Training

Attending the training through Ethnos 360 is much like finishing a four year college program. At the Bible Institute we earned an Associated in Biblical Studies. To finish the training, we would earn a non-accredited Bachelors of Intercultural Ministries degree.

While the costs are much lower than attending college due to the missionaries who have dedicated their lives to teaching and discipling more of the body of Christ to reach the lost, there are still costs associated with this form of training.

Here are some of the costs we're for which we are preparing:

(Per Semester) Married couples with three children: $6,722

For each additional child, $140

These payments include housing, utilities, use of laundry facilities, student activities, registration, course fees, administration, DSL and telephones, Student Accident Insurance (billed for entire year), etc. They do not include personal expenses or food, or the costs detailed below.

Apartment Deposit: $500 (refundable) due 3 months before the start of classes (This is not included in the semester fees and is a one-time refundable fee.)

Books, supplies and materials: Approximately, $100 for 1st & 3rd semester. Second Semester is $200 and Fourth Semester is $300. Expect an additional $200 needed for Simply Living class during the second semester.

$400 per child per semester for Childcare

$50 degree fee - final semester only

Fun Fact: All things are possible with God...even though the context was a little different from our situation, we feel like the concept still applies!

Here's the Timeline

Our goal is to:

This goal has been achieved! Have our medical debts paid by April. (That's $7,135.31 + the bill that will arrive for our son's stay at the Seattle Children's Hospital)

  • Begin saving for training in May
  • Have enough money for the first year of training plus a plan to cover our costs of living while in training (That's 16,844 + the cost of living expenses**)

**The training facility recommends that families participating in the training do not have a job during their time at the facility. That being said, our family is working on building a portfolio in Facebook management with a local business in order to find employment quickly once we move to Missouri. Contact us for more information if you're curious about our plans.

The Solution

What We're Doing

We have until April to pay off our debt before interest begins to be accumulated. Currently, we're only able to pay $395 a month (beginning in December) on our debts. That will not get us anywhere near finished by April, let alone August! So, we've come up with different avenues to increase our income.

  • Take on a second job- We're exploring two different avenues for the husband to take on second job.
  • Photography- we've started a photography business that is slowly beginning to produce revenue. You can follow the button below to view our portfolio, or just scroll through this page. Every image on this page was photographed by us.
  • Commercial Work (photography and web design)- we've begun working with a local business to revamp their Facebook page and marketing by producing unique graphics and write-ups on their business. You can see some of this by visiting the portfolio and following the link for "commercial"
  • Blog- We've started a blog to promote our photography and to earn a little extra via affiliate marketing.
  • Odd jobs- along with the second job, we're taking little jobs as they come along (helping with projects, childcare, etc).
  • Go Fund Me- We've put a Go Fund Me Account in place for whoever wishes to help us in this goal.
Are You Interested in Helping?

We'd be honored to have your partnership in this goal to finish our training and ultimately begin working to expand the reach of the gospel. But how can you help?

1. You can give through our Go Fund Me Account. Because we're not yet missionaries, there's no tax deduction that can be claimed. But later on down the road when our training is complete and the Lord has given us our next step, there will be!

2. You can participate in our Partnership Photography Plan. Keep scrolling to learn more about it.

We want to work together to bless families, starting with yours!

So we've made a plan to bring your family quality, lasting art featuring your story to display in your home.

The price per session would be half of our normal fee...

and we've included 5 high resolution digital prints at no additional cost.

We stand behind the certainty of knowing that your photographs, albums and art will be beautifully and timelessly printed...

to be present in your home as your children grow and as your grandchildren come into the world.

This way you'll be able to happily invest a little more to help us reach families still in the darkness of this present age

An opportunity with two amazing outcomes is hard to let go of...

You'll have the knowledge that your investment will be producing beautiful results for your family, for our family and for future families...

that's a lot of families...

and a lot of souls.

So we're asking you to partner with us in this unique method

to knock out the financial setbacks

to expand the reach of the gospel

to participate in the promise God made to Abraham

that all the families of the earth may be blessed.

Together we can carry out the final commission given by our Lord at his ascension

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Amen

Matthew 28.19-20

Oh the Moments We Can Capture

The purpose of our photography runs deeper than pretty pictures and social media fillers (though we like those too!). Our goal is to help families tell their own story in a beautiful and visual way that will be one of the avenues used to create tradition, foundation, and unity within their home.

How can a photograph do that?

Years will go by as a family grows, faces challenges, rejoices, and weeps together. The photographs you keep and display in your home become priceless heirlooms that help bring your family to a place of singularity. Having a tangible way to remember times of joy, times of strength, times of love and times of peace that revolve around the family's faith and core values is invaluable. Looking through an album after a moment that causes doubt and instability in the heart, gazing up at the framed collage on the wall before stepping into what you know will be one of the most challenging moments in your life, or placing an ornament photograph on your Christmas tree after walking through loss together can be what reminds you of your faith and your strength.

Let us help create these pieces for your family.

Below are some images of holiday cards we offer and our normal pricing guide for you to reference the types of sessions we do. Remember that in the partnership program, the price of a session is half (so if the stand alone session is session is $250, then the session is $125). Due to the costs of putting together the collections, they can't be included at half off the listed price.

But the greatest help of all is prayer

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
