This picture was taken of a newspaper talking about the stock market crashing.
These men are lined up in front of a building to get a free meal. Because of the great depression, many people were left very poor and couldn't buy many meals. In April 1939, almost ten years after the crisis began, more than one in five Americans still could not find work.
