Sophomore Taye Baldinazzo had a big-time championship meet, breaking the school-record in the 500-freestyle and placing third overall to earn All-America honors. He entered the race as the 10th-seeded swimmer. Baldinazzo also earned Honorable Mention All-America honors

RACING ON THE NCAA NATIONAL STAGE

The UChicago men's and women's swimming & diving teams both placed in the Top 15 at the NCAA Division III National Championships for the fifth-straight year and the Maroons earned 31 All-America performances across the four-day meet in Indianapolis, Ind.

STORIES:

Lance Culjat, who placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke, joined Taye Baldinazzo as the lone Maroons to earn full All-America honors as swimmers to place in the Top 8 of their respective events.

The women's 400 medley relay team not only earned Honorable Mention All-America honors, the Maroons set a new school record with a time of 3:47.76 to place 11th overall.

First-year Gillian Gagnard won her consolation finals heat to place ninth overall in the 200 backstroke, the highest individual placing for the Maroon women.

SOFTBALL

Holli Jones had a great week at the plate in the Maroons' 12 games in Florida, hitting .429 with three doubles and six RBI as UChicago went 7-5.

SOLID START

UChicago Softball played 12 games over Spring Break in Clermont, Fla., at the annual PFX Games, going 7-5 overall. The Maroons returned to Illinois and took on Lake Forest College Monday, splitting a doubleheader with the Foresters.

The #5 Maroon men's tennis squad stayed in the national tournament hunt with two key wins in The Golden State, defeating #11 Williams and #14 Pomona-Pitzer to improve to 11-2 in dual play.

The Maroon baseball team rattled off seven-straight wins from March 3-21 and completed a five-game stretch in the Lone Star State with a 2-3 record over Spring Break.
