THE DISGRACE that is our country

There is a special place in hell for Sarah Huckabee-Sanders, it’s right next to Donald Trump. But now wait, make room for White House Chief of Staff, John Kelly.

In the White House’s relentless assault on U.S. Representative Frederica Wilson D-Fla., they have proven once again how loosely they play with the facts.

Ok, meathead, where’s the proof?

He always says he has “proof”, but never produces any. Never. Why don’t you at least tell us what you did say. Ah… you never thought of that. Besides, Chief of Staff Kelly backed up what you did say, from behind the bully pulpit last Thursday.

White House Chief of Staff says...

“And he (Trump) said to me, what do I say? I said to him, sir, there’s nothing you can do to lighten the burden on these families. Well, let me tell you what I told him (Trump). Let me tell you what my best friend, Joe Dunford, told me — because he was my casualty officer. He said, Kel, he was doing exactly what he wanted to do when he was killed. He knew what he was getting into by joining that 1 percent. He knew what the possibilities were because we’re at war. And when he died, in the four cases we’re talking about, Niger, and my son’s case in Afghanistan — “

This is taken, verbatim, from Kelly’s speech on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Hey, I was even going to give Trump a break on this one. We all know he has no compassion, for anyone. But for a guy who’s not used to saying nice things to folks, he did his best. But why lie about it? Defend yourself, tell us what you did say. Instead of going into attack mode, let Le David Johnson’s widow know, if you sounded disrespectful, tell her, I’m sorry, I did not mean too. Pretty simple, unless you’re Donald Trump, who never says he’s sorry.

The White House panicked after Trump lied about calling soldiers' families - VANITY FAIR

Maybe this could have been prevented if Trump would have made these calls in a timelier manner. But he waited because he did not, and still does not, want to talk about Niger. So, he must feel he did something wrong. And of course, he went on to criticize President Obama (the old standby) and past administrations. He wants us to believe he is the first president to ever call a fallen soldiers’ family, “in history!” nonetheless. Everything, to this derelict of a person, is the first, the fastest, the most, the best in history, ever! He claimed President Obama and past administrations never made calls to Gold Star familys. When a reporter questioned that statement, Trump used another old standby, “well, that’s what I was told.”

Let's clear this up...

Wacky? He is the most immature and ignorant person to ever hold the office.

...Congresswoman Wilson was not “SECRETLY on a very personal call”. Rep. Wilson knows this young man’s family. She mentored him through programs she established in her area, before she was a Congresswoman. Sergeant Johnson’s family asked Ms. Wilson to ride with them to collect his body at the airport, for support. She is a friend of the family. The call from Trump came while in the car, and at the request of Sergeant Johnson’s widow, Myeshia, the call was put on speakerphone. Ms. Wilson was not “SECRETLY” listening in.

So, the lies continue. Now, with Chief of Staff, not General, Kelly. He is in a political position now, so he is not, contrary to what Sarah Sanders believes, above reproach. Even as a General, as is the President, they are civil servants, and are not above reproach. They work for us.

Kelly went on to say this about Rep. Wilson’s speech at the dedication of a new FBI building in Florida, “and a congresswoman stood up, and in the long tradition of empty barrels(1) making the most noise, stood up there and all of that and talked about how she was instrumental in getting the funding for that building(2), and how she took care of her constituents because she got the money, and she just called up President Obama, and on that phone call he gave the money -- the $20 million(3) -- to build the building(4). And she sat down, and we were stunned. Stunned that she had done it. Even for someone that is that empty a barrel, we were stunned. But, you know, none of us went to the press and criticized. None of us stood up and were appalled. We just said, okay, fine."

Let’s break this down.

(1) empty barrel is a phrase used to describe someone that is stupid.

(2) the funding for that building was raised before she was a member of Congress

(3) actually it was more like $194 million

(4) Ms. Wilson never mentioned that she was responsible for getting the funding. She was referring to how she only had four weeks to have the building named for two FBI agents Benjamin Grogan and Jerry Dove, who were killed during a 1986 shootout with bank robbers south of Miami.

She also asked all members of law enforcement in the audience to stand so they could receive applause...

Ms. Wilson also went on to thank then Speaker of the House John Boehner (R), Sen. Bill Nelson (D) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R) for helping to push this request through Congress. Mind you, a very bipartisan action, and she mentioned President Obama only because he was the current President and he had final approval. She also asked all members of law enforcement in the audience to stand so they could receive applause and be shown appreciation for all they do. I don’t see a lot of “grandstanding” there, Gen. Kelly.

Sarah Huckabee-Sanders, Oct. 20, 2017 referring to Congresswoman Wilson: "All hat, no cattle."

I thought Kelly was brought in to be the adult in the room. He is as hateful and as much a liar as Trump and the rest of the administration. He has also tarnished his image as a respected General. On a General’s pension, do you need this job that badly? It was Trump who brought Kelly into this by telling the world that President Obama did not call Kelly's family after his son died serving in Afghanistan. The Presidents do not call every family, but a letter is always sent. And at an event at the White House honoring soldiers who had died in the line of duty, Gen. Kelly and his wife were seated at the head table with President Obama and then First Lady Michelle Obama. Yeah, meathead Trump doesn't tell you that.

Like Trump, Kelly has forgotten we live in a video world. Even Fox News bashes the Congresswoman obviously unaware of the tape that discredits what Kelly said. (great journalism Fox) How do you stand behind this obscene and blatant lie, Gen. Kelly? How?

Is he referring to the Khan family? Another Gold Star family, of color, that Trump viciously attacked.

Kelly went on to say..."Life — the dignity of life — is sacred. That’s gone. Religion, that seems to be gone as well. Gold Star families, I think that left in the convention over the summer." Is he referring to the Khan family? Another Gold Star family, of color, that Trump viciously attacked? General Kelly, you have sunk to a new low. I believe he is overdosing on the orange kool-aid.

When questioned the next day, our little southern belle, Sarah Huckabee-Sanders, told reporters that Kelly was referring to other parts of the evening when Ms. Wilson was supposedly saying these self-promoting comments. Of course, when asked if she had proof, no, she didn't. Because it didn’t happen. Pure Trump, no proof to back up their lies. He just cannot admit he is wrong. What Kelly claimed had happened has been disproved on video, and they still can’t admit it. Unbelievable, it is just unbelievable. Gen. Kelly and Trump owe Ms. Wilson and La David Johnson’s widow, Myeshia, an apology. I doubt we’ll ever here one, but that is the disgrace that is our president.

This just in...

Georgia Rep. Betty Price (R), wife of former Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Tom Price, remember him? The former Senator who consistently complained about the waste of taxpayer money during the Obama administration. The same asshole who, as a cabinet member, flew around at a cost to taxpayers of nearly $1 million, or about $400,000 for private charters and $500,000 in military airplane costs. Most of the trips were between cities where inexpensive commercial flights were also available. (see the hypocrisy?) He resigned, but his ignorant wife is now spewing the hate for both of them. Rep. Price asked this question last week during a study committee addressing challenges to health care access.

The committee was examining the spread of the HIV virus across the state of Georgia. In a video published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Price can be heard asking a question regarding the surveillance of individuals who come into close contact with patients infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

“What are we legally able to do, and I don’t want to say the quarantine word, but I guess I just said it,” Price says. “Is there an ability, since I would guess that public dollars are expended heavily in prophylaxis and treatment of this condition. So we have a public interest in curtailing the spread. What would you advise, or are there any methods legally that we could do that would curtail the spread?” Quarantine? One more example of the Trump presidency and the evangelical ultra-right taking us down the very dangerous road of bigotry. And on their way, stripping peoples civil rights.

One more thing-

Speaking of ignorant, billionaire cabinet members

We were speaking of ignorant, billionaire cabinet members, weren't we? Last January, Betsy DeVos went before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and delivered what may have been the worst performance of a potential cabinet secretary in modern history. She didn't seem to know anything about federal education policy, which wasn't surprising on its own: Her track record as a school-choice advocate in Michigan had emphasized privatization and theocracy, rather than pursuit of high-quality public education. Worse, she was specifically ignorant about special education, an arena where her prospective office has outsized influence. She got confirmed anyway, if narrowly.

Ten months into the Trump administration, the damage that DeVos and her appointees are doing to America's most vulnerable is beginning to show. A few weeks ago, she announced significant changes to the department's guidance on Title IX as it pertains to sexual assault in schools. Then, last week, the department rolled back 72 policy documents that specifically detailed the rights of disabled children in schools. We already know how Trump feels about the disabled (remember his mocking a disabled reporter?) and now his cabinet is acting on this. Less protection for women sexually harassed or abused, and no rights for disabled citizens that want an education. I cannot believe I live in such an uncaring and hateful country.

Everything I report is based on fact. I'm not here to bash Republicans or Christians, I just point out the facts. I believe in the two-party system and freedom for all, under the U.S. Constitution. If you think I have stated something nonfactual, please, email me. If proven wrong, I will stand corrected. I am here to help fight religious persecution and oppression from the far right that seek to dominate and translate the Constitution to fit their beliefs, and their beliefs only. Resist.
