I took advanced art to better my skill in charcoal and pencil drawings however in this year I have branched out to clay media as well. This year I want to get better at creating realistic art step by step.
My tiger drawing was a mixed media between charcoal and chalk. My inspiration was a normal picture of a tiger which I cropped to fit how I wanted. The hardest part of this project was getting the black and white hair to look layered over each other. This mixed media piece has to be my favorite piece that I have worked on this year.
This piece is a self portrait that I feel I was successful at creating realistic art with charcoal. When stating this project I didn''t like how it looked but by the end it got a lot better.
My charcoal eye is a piece I wish I could start over it is not finished but i messed up many places made certain spot too dark and I forgot to add a reflection in the eye. I may restart the eye in the next semester but I do not know quite yet.
I have branched out this year by trying to create a clay giraffe this did not work out so well considering it got leather hard before I finished it. I am restarting this project very soon i liked how you build up on clay sculptures.
Next semester I would like to do more clay and pencil drawings. I feel I have improved my attitude towards new things and have improved my ability to work in new medias. With this being said I have a long way to go yet.
