Kindergarten

Objective: SWBAT describe what plants and animals need in order to survive while observing and sketching seedlings in the garden.

Vocabulary: observe, sketch, seedling, air, water, space, sunlight.

First Grade

First grade students watch a video on the PebbleGo website.

Objective: SWBAT make observations to show that young plants are similar to mature plants, but not the same through sketching seedlings in the garden.

Vocabulary: Observe, sketch, differences, mature, young.

Second Grade

Objective: SWBAT explain what plants need in order to survive by drawing an accurate model of the garden bed.

Vocabulary: sun, air, water, space, accurate, labeling

Third Grade

Objective: SWBAT discuss and explain how balanced and unbalanced forces have different effects on an object by conducting experiments on the playground.

Vocabulary: kinetic energy, potential energy, balanced, unbalanced, stationary, motion

Fourth Grade

Objective: SWBAT observe and discuss the impact of waves (in water) have on a floating object.

Vocabulary: Amplitude, frequency, wavelength.

Fifth Grade

Objective: SWBAT show their understanding of scale in the solar system by creating a 3-D model of a constellation.

Vocabulary: Scale ruler, brightness scale, light year, AU (astronomical unit).
