My Broken Phone By: Brenden m.

One Friday after school I was sitting on my cold leather couch in my dark basement playing on my Xbox One playing Forza Horizon 3 while my dad was working on his computer. When all of a sudden I hear four heavy sets of footprints come running up my front porch. Ten seconds later...Knock Knock, Knock, in my excitement I crash my car, quickly shut off my Xbox and I sprinted upstairs all while getting shushed by my dad who was in a meeting with his boss.

I sprinted out of my basement door and pushed my sister out of the way and into the wall. I run to the door knob, open the door and I let my best friend in and tell him to drop all of his things except for his phone and his tablet. I later tell him to meet me upstairs in my room as soon as possible. I run upstairs to open my blinds and grab my two bean bags and put them in the middle of my room. Next, he comes running into my room and jumps right onto one of my bean bags and pulls out his phone and asks me what my wifi password is. After I tell him the password I grab my phone and I flop onto the other bean bag.

After an hour or two of talking, playing on our phones and watching YouTube we finally decide that we should do something else. We go outside and pass a football, kick a soccer ball, and play some basketball for about 21/2 hours or so until we go back inside and play on our tablets. After about ten to fifteen minutes I look at the clock and it reads, 6:32 pm. I tell my best friend that at 7:15 pm. We will go downstairs to get something to eat because he was hungry.

Forty-five minutes later we go downstairs and I grab a granola bar, 2 warheads, Reese's peanut butter cup, and a bottle of water. He grabs a little more sugar than me, he gets 3 recesses, 1 full-size Kit-Kat bar, a pack of M&M's, and a bowl of green, fresh, and juicy grapes from the refrigerator. We cautiously and quietly sneak all of the food past my mom who was talking to my aunt on the phone in the living room, into my room without my them figuring out what we were doing. My mother's voice rings in my head, ”NO EATING UPSTAIRS!!” and of course I ignore it and continue walking. We finish eating all of the snacks that we brought up into my room and we start to play on our phones again.

A little time passes and we start to argue about something. Then it turns into a fight that I knew that I would remember and he throws the first punch and it hit me right in the center of my stomach. I groan in pain as I try to stand up after that punch to my gut. I then shove him away and he does the same to me but he is not done, he charges at me with an anger filled face and tackles me.I then punch him in the arm just to get him off of me and in his anger, he threatens to smash my phone. I said that he would never do that and what do you know he does it. He throws my phone across the room with all of his might and it hits the wall with a loud bang and lands face down, there is glass on the floor, I know what happened. I shove him into my bed and go to grab my phone and it is shattered everywhere. Now I am furious but something is holding me back from beating him up, I hear my mother say “hey, what is going on up there”. I tell her the story and she asks, “did he apologize?”.

I say yes and after he calms down he comes over and says that he will pay for half of the repairs and I thank him. I get my dad and he says that he know someone that can fix it and it will cost $80. My best friend apologizes again and again and again and I tell him that I forgive him though it was hard. Even though it was hard to do I forgive him for what he did because I know that I need to hold on to my friends. I know that it would be rude to hold a grudge against the friend I have had my entire life.
