Val Gardena Dolomites Press Trip June 23rd-26th, 2017 - an Atlantic Link case story

Exploring the wonders of Val Gardena Dolomites on e-bikes

Whether you visit Val Gardena during winter or summer, the area is literally one big outdoor playground with endless possibilities for skiers, bikers, hikers and climbers. To emphasize the many special aspects of the area to the Scandinavian traveler, Atlantic Link is representing Val Gardena in Scandinavia and Finland to communicate the long list of possibilties for outdoor adventures through media and other relevant platforms in our market.

The valley of Val Gardena in the Italian Dolomites is truly a masterpiece by Mother Nature. The unique, unspoiled natural landscape of the area has even been acknowledged as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

E-biking in the mountains

On this specific trip, we brought a pan-Scandinavian media group to explore a new aspect of Val Gardena: E-biking in the mountains. And what a clever initiative this is. Under normal circumstances, exploring the Dolomites on a bike is restricted to experienced and fit bike riders but with the e-bikes – where you have a small power outlet helping you climb the mountains – the steep climbs in the beautiful surroundings suddenly becomes accessible to everyone.

Active adventures and gourmet experiences

During a two-day itinerary, the journalists explored the many possibilities within e-biking. We even combined the active adventures with a selection of the area’s gourmet experiences to highlight this aspect as well. The area of Val Gardena really is the full package comprising majestic nature, fun outdoor adventures and the best the Italian kitchen has to offer.

In other words, E-biking is fun way to explore an area that would otherwise not be accessible to the general tourist through bicycling. The powered bikes litterally open the doors to the mountains, however, it’s not an option that is commonly known nor recognized by the general public. For that reason, it is important that we secure high quality coverage in order to spread the word.
