Muros & Ézaro.

Galicia, Spain. October 2017.

Sunday road trip enjoying Galicia’s magic spots. A región so in love the Atlantic Ocean along its coastline. Lighthouses, windmills, white sandy beaches and spectacular sunsets.

Sunset in Ézaro.

Atlanta.

Georgia, United States. April 2016.

7 years living in the capital of the south. 7 years passed since my last visit and I was so looking forward to see my people there, my places. An oportunity to share with my partner a part of my life that I’ve spoken about so many times before.

Lush green all over. Skyscrapers emerge from the canopy. Southern Charm meets modern city.

El Camino.

Santiago de Compostela. October 2017.

Passing Santiago de Compostela Airport on a Saturday morning you see herds of walkers heading to their final destination. All smiling and cheerful as the end of their pilgrimage is almost at reach.

Pozas Rio Melón. Ourense, Spain.

Illa de Arousa.

Galicia, Spain. Summer 2015.

Illa de Arousa.

Caldas de Reis. Umia river and Segade falls.

Sunday road trip on the hottest summer day turned into a discovery of a favourite. First made a hiking route inland along the river Umia in Caldas de Reis (Pontevedra) up to the cascade “Fervenza do Segade”. A swim in the river was mandatory in such heat.

Discovering Illa de Arousa.

After hiking along the river and having a picnic in the municipal park of Caldas, we decided to go to the sea. What a wonderful decision! Even thou it is a popular destination of the Rias Baixes it can be crowded but it’s beauty and scenery greatly compensates. Pristine beaches, amazing views, campings, snorkelling, wind and kite surf among many other activities are available along with amazing seafood directly from the fisherman’s port in town.

Punta Cavalo’s lighthouse is just one magical landmark not to miss. Perfect at sunset and breathtaking stargazing. There is saw the milky way by the first time ever just looking up.

Tracing my roots in Carballiño.

O Carballiño, Ourense. Spain. Winter 2015.

My fathers‘ hometown is filled with precious places like this municipal park by the Arenteiro river. Lights, shadows, water and green. A perfect place for a nice walk and the simple pleasure of contemplation.

Romans and Medieval Knights.

Ponferrada, Castille Leon. Spain. December 2016.

This city is the last in Castille on the road to Santiago before entering Galicia. Charming town on the foothills with history, fountains all over the place and it’s major attraction: The Medieval Templar Caslte. A must to visit.

Las Médelulas open sky gold mine. Ponferrada. December 2016.

This amazing spot is a must. Romans build a thousand kilometres aqueduct over a mountain range to flood and erode the previously dug galleries. Such erosion removed an entire hill leaving an espectacular canyon plated later with now ancient horse cashew trees.

My camera.

Seville, Spain.

September 2012.

The main city of Andalusia, full of art and amazing architecture. History everywhere. Twice home of the world expo. Mother of the colonial America with the Indies Archive. Simply magic and the essence of what the world understands of Spain (even thou there’s so much more).

Ruins of Itálica, home of the first emperor born outside Rome.

Rome. La città eterna.

Italy. January 2008.

A living museum everywhere you look. Remaining testimony of one of the largest empires on earth and their legacy. First metropolis of the west world and the base of today’s urban life as we know today.
