Junior Achievement BizTown Outing February 22, 2017

Junior Achievement BizTown is a simulated business culture experience designed for fifth graders. There are a variety of simulated business settings within BizTown that students participate in over the course of five or six hours of the simulation. This was my third outing at BizTown and I was a volunteer as part of the Citigroup force that participated. I worked the Bright House business.

Volunteers are trained and prepped on all aspects of BizTown prior to the students arriving by Junior Achievement staff.

My Station: Bright House

This was the Bright House "business" that my students worked during the BizTown simulation.

Itzamary, our TV anchor, interviews a student that was broadcast on all the televisions throughout BizTown!

Our Bright House CEO (right) is dialogging with another BizTown vendor.

Other BizTown Businesses

At BOA, students learn how to "endorse" their pay checks and make deposits.

Students have Town Hall meetings where the Mayor (currently speaking) addresses the students as well as other business CEOs.

BizTown was an opportunity for me to reconnect with some of my Citi Tax Department former co-workers: John Ovalles, Jamie Brooks and Tiffany Kraft.
