SOCCER LAST WEEK

The Lyons went 1-1-0 last week, shouldering a tough loss at Wesleyan before besting NEWMAC-rival, Wellesley by a 1-0 margin at home to close out the week. Senior Alex Kenoian recorded the goal for the Lyons, while goalies Amanda Manaster (16 saves) and Maria-Lucia Delgado (8 saves) combined for 24 saves.

CROSS COUNTRY LAST WEEK

The Lyons were idle last week, but return to action on October 6th when they compete at Westfield State's James Earley Invitational!

Sat., Oct. 6 at James Earley Invitational at Westfield State - TIME: 12pm

VOLLEYBALL LAST WEEK

The Lyons were 1-2 last week, falling to Coast Guard and Emerson, while besting Anna Maria at home by a 3-0 margin. Senior captain Jamesa Allen notched 14 kills in the win, while sophomore setter Brayden Walden notched 39 assists on the week.

Tues., Sept. 25 vs. WPI - TIME: 7PM

Fri., Sept. 28 vs. MIT - TIME: 6pm

FIELD HOCKEY LAST WEEK

Field Hockey shouldered losses to Wesleyan and nationally-ranked MIT last week. Against the Engineers, the Lyons battled back from being down 3-1 as consecutive goals from rookie Abby Baldwin tied the game and sent it to overtime where MIT earned the victory.

TENNIS LAST WEEK

In its second straight appearance, the Lyons' tennis team won the Flight A final and reached the Flight C final to total 12 points and capture the 2018 Grass Court Doubles Championships hosted by Salve Regina University at the Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport. With over 50 different players in the field, the Lyons earned a combined 12 points to earn the team victory.

Fri.-Sun., Sept. 28-30 at ITA Northeast Regional Championship - hosted by Williams College - TIME: TBD based on ranking of players competing.

GOLF last week

The Lyons earned eighth overall last week, hosting their own MHC Invitational at The Orchards Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. MHC was led by rookie Cortney Qiu, who notched a 78 on day two. Combined with her opening round of 80, she shot a 158 total which was good for 14th place in the field.

RIDING OPENS 2018 SCHEDULE

Under the direction of longtime head coach CJ Law, the Mount Holyoke riding team opens its season on Saturday at the Smith College Show. The Lyons look to continue its success from last season, which saw the squad win its region, capture the Zone 1 Championship, while finishing seventh overall at the IHSA National Championships. The Lyons welcome back a number of athletes to the fall roster, including sophomore Sara Hearn, who was the 2018 IHSA National Champion in Collegiate Cup Intermediate Equitation Over Fences.

ROWING OPENS FALL SEASON

Led by second-year head coach, Seth Hussey, the Mount Holyoke College rowing team is set to open its 2018-19 schedule on Sunday at the 2018 Green Mountain Head Regatta. Last season, the Lyons had a number of solid efforts, including fourth at Seven Sisters and sixth at the NEWMAC Championship.
