Howe had careers in engineering and mechanical engineering.

Sewing Machine

In his teenage years worked with a watchmaker.

In 1845, he made a sewing machine. It included a needle with an eye.

Allen Wilson and Issac Singer added features to the machine and made it popular.

Issac Singer stole Howe's idea of the sewing machine. It made Howe mad that he established patent rights in 1854 - 1867.

When he was wealthy, he set up a sewing machine factory in Bridgeport.
