William Carey presentation by Rachael Harris

Early Life - William Carey was born August 17, 1761 in Paulerspury, England. He worked as an apprentice in a cobble shop and was a naturally inquisitive child who taught himself Latin. When he was an adult, he married a woman named Dorothy Plackett and had one daughter that died at the age of two.
When Carey was about eighteen years old, he left the church of England to "follow Christ" and "go forth unto him without the camp" while he was there, William Carey founded the English Baptist Missionary Society in India. He was baptized October 5, 1783.
William Carey died on June 9, 1834 in Frederiksnagar (now known as Shrirampur) India. He said to them, "go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." - Mark16:15
