Pride of Barnsley Award

We have been nominated for a Pride of Barnsley award to recognise all the hard work the school and our community have done throughout the lockdown - THANK YOU!! Barnsley Chronicle visited school this week so we should be in the Barnsley Chronicle over Easter...one thing we have tried to do is shout about all the great things we do as a community, especially during lockdown - we have made a negative time full of positive memories!!

Year 1 Party Day

Year 1 pupils enjoyed their end of topic party where they tried lots of Great Britain's favourite foods, listened to British music as well as a UK quiz - good fun was had by all!

Year 2 - Visit from the zoo!

Year 2 children had a fabulous day learning about various animals ranging from cockroaches, snakes, bearded dragons, spiders and rabbits. They even had the opportunity to hold them too! They looked very professional writing notes that they could then use in the following Literacy lessons.

Easter Egg Competition

We have had lots of fun today decorating our eggs.

Happy Easter

We hope you all have a lovely Easter Break after your super hard work! It's been lovely to see you all back at school and trying your best!

We look forward to seeing you back in school on Tuesday 13th April.

Keeping COVID safe

As you maybe aware, Barnsley currently has the highest number of COVID positive cases in the country. Lets make sure we do everything possible over Easter to get the numbers down by following the Government advice...we don't want to be the only area that has to maintain restrictions when the rest of the country return back to some kind of normality!

Here is some updated information from Barnsley Local Authority.

Could anyone help the local authority by completing the short survey below - lets tell them how you've been feeling!

The Public Health team want to find out how children and young people of Barnsley have been feeling during the COVID-19 pandemic and we have developed a very short survey (only 14 questions) to help us gather that information

To go to the survey click the link below:

Take me to the survey

Or visit: https://surveys.barnsley.gov.uk/s/YFEZGV/

If you would like to find out about what emotional wellbeing support there is available locally please visit our new hub pages:

Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Hub - Children & Young People

Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Hub - Adults, Parents & Carers

Who can complete the survey?

We want to hear from all school age children and young people living in Barnsley (up to age 25 for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND))

If you are under 13 years of age you will need a parent or carer to give their permission to complete the survey.

Parents and carers: you may want help your child to answer the questions in the survey if they are younger or need any extra support.

Those who are 13 years or older can complete the survey alone without the need for consent from an adult.

Why do you want to know how I’m feeling?

Our emotional health and wellbeing is more important than ever and we want to help you to take care of it.

The information we get from this survey will help us to decide how to support children and young people as best we can through this difficult time.

Who will see my answers?

The survey will be completely anonymous and the questions have been worded so that there will be no personal information that may identify you.

A link to the full privacy notice is included at the top of the survey which offers more detail on how we will use the data.

I have already done this survey before

Day by day different things are happening and situations keep on changing, which is why we would like it if you can do this survey more than once so we can see how your feelings change over time.

Thank you for taking the time to be involved, we hope that with this information we can support your emotional health and wellbeing through these difficult times.

Happy Easter everyone - thank you for all of your support over the Spring term, everyone has been fabulous and shown what a great place Ward Green is.
