u.s vs Nixon by jocelynn, caily, morgan

Sides of Argument: President Nixon and The United States. Nixon and the United States got into an argument, about Nixon hiding a tape recorder in the oval office. And abusing the power of being a president and federal office leader.

President NIxon

"July 8, 1974 the supreme court justified that the president had jurisdiction and the privilege to executive power, therefore the president must admit that he had the tape." (citied from website)

Supreme Court

This affected the country because the president deceived and went under the law, by bringing in a tape recorder to a private area recording all conversation without consult of other federal investigators. This affected America by showing that Nixon had lied to the people, and the jury's vote was 8-0 pleading him guilty... a few weeks later he had resigned.

He recorded the meeting between H.R. Haldeman and Nixon
