MMHS Counseling Newsletter January 2020

How cool is it that it is 2020! We are excited to be back and get going on all the activities we have planned for second semester. Registration is just around the corner. We will start registration presentations the end of January for all grades to help them in choosing their schedules for next year. We're also very anxious to get seniors ready for graduation. Juniors will be participating in Junior group PCCR's this month and next as well.

Upcoming Events

January 9th- Term 2 Ends

January 10th- District Development Day- No School for students

January 18th & 25th- ACT Prep Class. Make sure to sign up in the finance office. Cost is $50.

January 20th- No School- Martin Luther King Day

January 27th-28th- Sophomore Registration Presentations. Students will receive registration materials and instructions.

January 29th- Freshman Day. 9th graders from DFJr and MJHS visit MMHS for registration materials and tour.

January 30th- Counselors will be at Diamond Fork Junior High to help students register.

January 31st- Counselors will be at Mapleton Junior High to help students register.

February 3rd-7th- Counselors will begin Junior PCCR's. Look for a sign up in your email a couple weeks before. Please sign up with the correct counselor. Click on counselors name to sign up!

February 6th- Utah Higher Ed Day. 8:00-10:30. Juniors will be participating in presentations with Utah Colleges/Universities here at MMHS.

Scholarship Information

Seniors-Don't forget to fill out the FAFSA. There is still time and you could potentially receive grants, work study and loan options.

January 31st- Utah CTE Scholarship Due

January 31st- Boys State opens for Registration. First 300 boys to apply will be considered.

February 3rd- Regents/New Century Scholarships Due.

We have included the Concurrent Enrollment Spring Courses with information and deadlines. Also below there is information regarding CTE Pathways. Students can earn a white honor cord for graduation after completing a CTE Pathway. Applications for pathways are due April 17th.
