In Case You Missed It...

Last week we celebrated Volunteer Appreciation Week. Each day, we highlighted one of many rockstar volunteers that we have the pleasure of knowing here at Family Giving Tree. Our volunteers are truly amazing people and we are lucky to serve our community alongside each of them. To make things easier, we’re bringing our highlights to you! No need to scroll back, looking through our past posts to find what you missed. Sit back and get to know some of our volunteers through this timeline.

Sunday, April 19, 2020 We kicked off Volunteer Appreciation Week with a special story about an anonymous donor. Watch the video below to find out how this mystery volunteer brought joy to one of our local hospitals.

Monday, April 20, 2020 Shelene has been a part of the Family Giving Tree Family for over 10 years. In this video, Shelene shares a little bit about what keeps her coming back to FGT and her favorite things to do during the shelter-in-place order.

Tuesday, April 21, 2020 Alex began volunteering around two years ago and quickly became a part of the FGT family. She helps us with office work, both of our drives, builds, collateral -- anything and everything we need! We’ve got so much love for our friend, Alex!

Alex always adds a dose of fun to whatever task she undertakes

Wednesday, April 22, 2020 One of our staff members read a letter from our friend and dedicated Back-to-School volunteer, Winnie. Watch the video to hear about Winnie’s experiences with Family Giving Tree and her love for helping our Back-to-School Drive.

Thursday, April 23, 2020 Yadira is one of our long-term volunteers who is always there to help us at our Drives. She works at one of the school districts we partner with and is currently passing out meals and our School Supply Kits to students and their families. Thank you, Yadira for being such a rockstar in our community!

Friday, April 24, 2020 On Friday, we highlighted two amazing volunteers at Family Giving Tree, Karen and Vesna.

Not only is Karen (below, center, left) one of our board members, she is also a star volunteer at Family Giving Tree. Karen runs our Holiday Wish Drive Store, attends wrapping parties, backpack builds, and community events. She is one of our biggest cheerleaders and we deeply appreciate her continued support!

Vesna (below, center, right) volunteers alongside her amazing family - her daughter Maja and husband Ken. They help with anything and everything we need help with from community events, wrapping parties, backpack builds, collateral preparation, everything!

Each and every volunteer is special to us, bringing their own uniqueness to our community. Without them, our mission would not come alive. We are so thankful that we get to serve our community with such amazing people.
