Nelson Mandela Help join the fight

Who am I? My name is Rolihlahla Mandela. I was born July 18, 1918 in Mvezo, South Africa. I attended primary school in Qunu where my teacher, Miss Mdingane, gave me the name Nelson. I completed my Junior Certificate at Clarkebury Boarding Institute and went on to Healdtown, a Wesleyan secondary school.

I began my studies for a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University College of Fort Hare but did not complete the degree there as I was expelled for joining in a student protest.

By my own admission I was a poor student and left the university in 1952 without graduating. I only started studying again through the University of London after my imprisonment in 1962 but also I did not complete that degree.

In 1989, while in the last months of my imprisonment, I obtained an LLB through the University of South Africa. I graduated in Absentia at a ceremony in Cape Town.

After I graduated and years went by, In 1958, South Africa's government turned to the policy of apartheid for the government. Apartheid is a system of racial segregation and discrimination. I do not agree with this policy at all, there is nothing fair about it and it is like slavery all over again.

I need to do something about this because this isn't fair.

We are being classified by race, including: white, Bantu, colored, and Asian. Blacks, including me are being forced to carry around pass cards. And, the voting rights are only for whites. How is this fair to us?

We have to carry around these everywhere we go.

Reservations are being segregated and are being called Home Lands. Schools, hospitals, neighborhoods are being segregated too. And, inter-marriage between blacks and whites is forbidden.

This is Apartheid

It is time I do something about this but I can't because I am being imprisoned. I am being imprisoned for standing up for something that I believe in. I am being imprisoned for standing up to a government that was committing human rights abuses against black African Americans.

I guess this is all I can do and all I can do to try and help all black African Americans. It is now out of my hands since I will be going to jail.

Help us now , your support is appreciated!

Please help and join the fight of getting rid of apartheid and getting South Africans the freedom and fair government they deserve.
