Marco polo was born on September 15, 1254 in Venice Italy. He Died on Januray 8, 1324. His sponsor country is Asia.

First expedition

His first expedition was in the year of 1271. The purpose of the expedition was to bring a message and a holy oil from the pope to Kublai khan. The obstacles they faced were the dangerous Gobi desert, bandits and 5000 miles of land.


Marco polo had many great achievements including crossing the 5000 miles of land, getting past bandits and the Gobi desert.

Marco polo is remembered by the path, the silk road and his summer pool game MARCO.....POLO.


Marco polo was one of the most famous to travel to Asia during the Middle Ages. He traveled farther then any of his predecessors during his 24 year long journey traveling on the silk road reaching China and Mongolia. Where he became a confidant of the Khubli Khan.
