Cynthia Perez, left, 6th grade teacher at Gadsden Elementary, prepares a gift package prepared by students for children who are cancer patients at Providence Hospital Memorial Campus location. Ms. Perez created the project in memory of her student, Allen Guzman, who died of brain cancer. Although on spring break, students made the presentation to Providence Hospital Monday as part of their honoring the memory of Guzman.

Araceli Romero, 6th grade student at Gadsden Elementary, displays the blanket, pillow and children's book summary package she created as part of the schools third year observance of "Project Allen." The school's 4th, 5th and 6th grade students created 20 packages for children who are cancer patients in memory of their classmate Allen Guzman who died of brain cancer in 2014. A total of 20 packages were made by the students and presented to Providence Hospital for distribution to children at the hospital with cancer and also to patients at Ronald McDonald House.
