On Thursday, January 26th, all teachers are invited to join the Teacher Learning Academy for brief and concise professional development packed with information. These professional growth opportunities will give you enough knowledge to research further, understand what you find, change your teaching, and come back for more!   • UbD Stage 1 ESC 143 - How can I use pieces of Stage 1 in my instruction?
  • Essential Questions in Your Classroom ESC 206 - What's the power behind Essential Questions in my daily lessons? Learn more about how EQs strengthen instruction. Please bring a sample of your curriculum documents to use during the session.
  • Inquiry Learning: Letting Questions Guide Learning¬†ESC 203 - Regardless of your teaching style (sage on the stage v. guide on the side), asking meaningful questions to your students can ignite interest and higher-level thinking more than you may expect. During this TLA session, you will hear from two teachers on their experiences with inquiry learning and have time to consider how you could adapt it future lessons.
  • Executive Functioning Skills ESC 207 - Ever wonder why students don't pay attention and aren't organized? Maybe they lack executive functioning skills: the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully. Learn more about these challenges and how you can help!

  • EL Support within Math Workshop ESC 206 - This session will examine challenges that English Learners may face in the Math classroom. We will share language development supports that can be implemented to advance English Learners' comprehension and communication skills in Math.
  • Teacher as Inquire: Responsive Teaching - Collect Data ESC 203 - Consider additional tools and ideas to add to your collection of comprehensive data.
  • Experience Inquiry ESC 207 - Introduction to inquiry with ignite sessions: Socratic, PBL, Genius Hour, STEM & Literacy
