App-Smashing Podcasting with a companion website

Scroll through the companion website to learn more.

Creating podcasts is a powerful way for students to demonstrate their understanding of a concept in a potentially creative approach.

The challenge is that the final product is an MP3 file and if students are going to create multimedia they should be able to publish their work in both a visually appealing and shareable format.

Creating a companion website to go along with a podcast is a great way for students to share their work. Also, they can include additional research, links, resources and images to supplement their podcast.

The Process

Create a podcast companion website with Adobe Spark Page. Use the "Button" element to include a link to a podcast episode.

Create a podcast episode with Opinion Podcast and publish the episode with the app. Copy the link and paste into the "Button" element on your Adobe Spark Page.

Each podcast can be a maximum length of ten minutes with the free version. Note: podcasts can also be exported to Google Drive and a link from Drive can be generate to share the audio.

Alternative Approach: GarageBand & Soundcloud

Create a podcast with GarageBand and export to SoundCloud when comeplete. Each SoundCloud account will host 2 hours of audio.

Once published, copy the link to the podcast episode on SoundCloud and paste into a button element in the Adobe Spark Page companion site.
