3rd Sunday of lent Andrew Kastle

In those days, in their thirst for water, the people grumbled against Moses, saying, "Why did you ever make us leave Egypt? Was it just to have us die here of thirst with our children and our livestock?" So Moses cried out to the LORD, "What shall I do with this people? a little more and they will stone me!" The LORD answered Moses, "Go over there in front of the people, along with some of the elders of Israel, holding in your hand, as you go, the staff with which you struck the river. I will be standing there in front of you on the rock in Horeb. Strike the rock, and the water will flow from it for the people to drink." This Moses did, in the presence of the elders of Israel. The place was called Massah and Meribah, because the Israelites quarreled there and tested the LORD, saying, "Is the LORD in our midst or not?"

This has to do with putting trust in the lord even when we are sure we won't succeed. the lord will always surprise you in what he can do. We should always have faith in ourselves and in God.

What I learned from these scripture reading is that not everyone had immediate faith in God 24/7. Everyone today and then had their doubts about what God wanted us to do. It's natural for us to question God but we need to take the extra step and trust in him.

Reflection: What I would focus upon is whether the kids at Carroll have any doubts in their faith life. We all struggle sometimes but the lord will be there as encouragement. We are all given trials in life that we will often struggle through there will always be a test of faith.

These homilies are what all homilies should be. They came straight from the heart and from personal experience. A homily is something that should make you think, not someone just droning on. These are great examples of a real homily.
