Sonja Hottelmann marketing consultant / projectmanager

At JapanTKY, we are not only inspired by the latest fashion trends and city trips. We also take inspiration from the people who wear our clothes. Ultimately, we design our clothes for them. Therefore, we would like you to meet some of our muses.

Sonja lives with her daughter (18) in Düsseldorf. For 17 years she has been running RheinProfil, a Marketing consulting and project management agency.

After studying economics and marketing, Sonja started a wholesale company in greeting cards and gifts. After her daughter was born, she decided that she wanted to be more flexible during working hours. So she decided to sell her greeting card company and to start a consulting agency.

RheinProfil accompanies companies in the field of marketing. From brainstorming to consultancy, but also the execution from campaigns and concepts. On- and offline, project-wise or as a full-service agency. RheinProfil is my company, but it’s not a one-man-show. I love teamwork and I always work together with other experts. Thanks to a strong network, I can offer the complete range of services of communication.” For each project, a long-standing, experienced team is put together, which makes RheinProfil very flexible."

“If you work with your heart & pleasure, you are a good business woman.”

“What I love about my job is that it is never the same. I work for all sorts of companies in different disciplines. In order to give good advice, I need to study many subjects and read about them. At the end of the day, one realizes that topics / projects from different industries can quickly be an enrichment for your own industries. Often looking beyond the horizon / beyond the industry is very conducive and stimulating."

"Besides that, I enjoy working with people on the same level, exchange my ideas, learn and develop concepts. I am always looking for new exciting projects or even interim management projects in companies. My spare time I like to spend with my family, my friends, with whom I like to go out and I love to sport. Playing tennis is my favorite.”

What does clothing means to you?

"While I love clothing, I don’t own a lot of clothes. I love good, stylish items. They ensure that I feel properly dressed for any occasion and I love to combine. I’m a jeans & blazer type and I have lots of white blouses, perfect to be dressed for business. My favourite white blouse is actually from JapanTKY, the fabric is wrinkle free and so comfortable to wear. And the fit is fabulous! That’s true for all their items. I love the female cut and how the chic, classic and casual are combined in their collection. JapanTKY dresses combined with pumps are business-like and with sneakers they are great for leisure - totally uncomplicated."

“I get inspired by the silent helpers who put energy into helping others without patting themself on the back.”

Who is your Muse?

“I cannot name one specific person. I get inspired by the silent helpers who put energy into helping others without patting themselves on the back. Naturally helping someone selflessly is not obvious anymore. For example, my daughter is doing volunteer work, she helps refugees to learn German. Not because she has to, but because she wants to. I'm involved in local organizations that help in my city. Sometimes even small things like giving a little attention can make a big difference for someone.”
