Location / habitat

African lions live in Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania, the Central African Republic, South Sudan and other parts of sub-Saharan Africa. So in hot and warm places that have good food and water resources.


The African lion can be long 1.4 to 2 meters . It's tail can be long 67 to 100 centimeters and his wheight can be of 121 to 200 kilogram . THAT'S A LOT

The asiatic lion bigger and a bit stronger because they are long 2-2.6 meters. their tail is long 60-90 centimeters and their weight is usually of 120 to 226 kilograms .


Lions usually eat big animals of grassland and Savannah like antilopes , zebras , wildbeest , hyenas .......the Asiatic lions eat large animals as well like goats ,nilgai (kind of antilopes),chital (kind of raindeer ) ,sambhar (another type of raindeer ) and buffaloes .


Lions are very social cats and live in groups called prides. Asiatic and African lion prides are very different, though.

An african pride is composed at least by three males and twelve females and one kid . But it can be even of 40 members .

The asiatic lions have two types of pride , one of male and another of females . They come together and meet during mating season.

Females usually stay the pride of where they are born so they are mostly related , but males try and create their own pride when their old enough or they join one.

At 3 to 4 years old, males and females are ready to mate. The female has a gestation period of around four months. She will give birth to her young away from others and hide the cubs for the first six weeks of their lives
