My Future Career Mackenzie Ryerson

I want to work for an Elementary school that makes learning fun and enjoyable for their students. I would prefer to work for Central Point School District 6 since that is the school district I grew up attending and because this is where I plan on living after I graduate college.
The elementary school I would like to work for is Central Point Elementary School. (CPE) I would like to teach 3rd grade. The minimum requirement to be an elementary teacher is to have a bachelor's degree in education.

I plan on learning the necessary skills to be an elementary teacher at Oregon State University.

I will also learn the necessary skills by observing my mom teach her 5th grade class through my internship.
A school district usually hires new teachers during the summer since you typically wouldn't need new teacher during a school year unless there was an emergency. To get hired, first I would submit my application/resume, then I would hopefully go in for an interview (or multiple) and usually what happens next depends on how that first interview went. I could get hired on the spot or potentially get another interview. You typically have a better chance of getting hired if the school district is familiar with you, such as if you I was a student teacher in the district or if I had volunteered with the students there.
I think this career interests me the most because my mom is a teacher, (along with many other relatives) and I love how she always has the same days off as me and the same schedule. I want to be able to have that with my kids as well. I also enjoy being around children and helping people learn. It’s the perfect career for me. I think I will be the obvious choice for this job because I will love what I do and I will be so passionate about it they would have a hard time telling me no.
